On the 30th of January 2026, the students of SMSTJ, as well as the teachers all gathered for one thing — and one thing only. The cross-country run. Many people think of this as the most HORRENDOUS school activity to ever exist, but I assure you it isn’t.
Speaking from a QM’s perspective, handing rubber bands to students and cheering for them was a really fun experience –especially when you get to scream at Form 1 Kurshiah students for not running faster and letting Tunku Burhannudin fall in last place
Speaking from a RUNNERS perspective on the other hand, is a whole different story. It may be physically exhausting but it’s really fun and when people cheer you on, the adrenalin pumps throughout your veins and pushes you on, giving you strength until the finish line comes into view.
Thankfully, our cross-country run went well without any casualities. Although it’s very sad how Kurshiah didn’t get 1st place, we had fun — and that’s all that matters.
